Hello, Austin!

Hi, friends! A lot has changed in my world recently.  We finally finished building a home in Austin (whew!) AND we're expecting our second baby girl this October!  I'm somewhat settled and look forward to getting back to work.  So many new people to meet, places to explore, and things to do before baby gets here!

Pros about the new house: awesome natural light, fun patterns and color, lots of trees in the yard. Cons: so. much. to do. But all good things!

Check out some photos from Austin.  I don't care if you see my mess...

Cheers to a new city, new baby and new house!  Oh, and thanks to the hubby for grabbing my camera so I can actually be IN photos every now and then.

The Birth of Cal

Here are just a few highlights of this sweet boy's birth.  Mom said it would be a fast labor, and she was right!  This was my last birth to photograph in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, and I'm so glad I went out on a high note.  It is such a privilege to watch families grow, and I am so grateful that this family chose me.

The Birth of Karter | Dallas Fort Worth Birth Photographer

I admit I was giddy with Nikki asked me to photograph her birth.  Nikki is an amazing doula in Dallas, and I wanted to see how doulas birth! Of course she was a rock star and had her own super star doula and chiropractor, Autumn Gore.  Being a birth worker, Nikki had been talking to her four year old daughter, Dallas, about birth and was excited for her to witness her new little sister coming earth side. They were playing reggae, dancing, laughing, and having a great time. Joy most definitely filled the room. The entire family was present when Karter made her debut, and big sister could not be happier!

The Magic Hour | Avery

Last month I had the pleasure of meeting Avery and her family through The Magic Hour, an organization that connects photographers with families affected by cancer.  I met this sweet family at their home on a rainy afternoon and found two rambunctious, happy kids that seemed like they didn't have a care in the world.  It's not my typical kind of session, but what Mom wants, Mom gets.

Avery, age 2, was diagnosed with retinoblastoma in March.  She's currently undergoing chemo and laser therapy to eliminate the tumors that have formed in her eyes to save her vision, and ultimately, her life.  Please keep Avery and her family in your prayers as they continue their journey to getting Avery healthy again. #TeamAvery

The Birth of Elanor | Dallas, Texas | Birth Photographer

Merry Christmas, y'all!  Last night baby Elanor decided she wanted a Christmas Eve birthday.  Her big brother stayed asleep in his room the entire night!  He woke up bright and early Christmas morning to a new baby sister.  When asked what he thought, he said, "I think my baby is beautiful!" I could not be more excited for this sweet family, especially big brother Jack. :-)

Attended by midwife Anna Catron of Bella Births.
